Raino Fluegge 2007 Print E-mail
Hello to all, As the stand in president for our dearest Noni who is absent over seas, on her behalf I would personally like to show my appreciation and say a very big thank you, to our honored guests, to all those who attended, to those who worked extremely hard during this event and to all who supported Eagle Heights Sportdog Club in hosting the 2007 Victorian State Championship Trial and Training Workshop.

Firstly it is immensely important that I thank and congratulate our traveling guests, Mrs Alison Kollenberg our Schutzhund Australia recognized judge from Queensland. Just sensational, a mighty job of consistency, a great performance of well executed judging and excellent constructive criticism. She had no trouble showing us once again why she has the right credentials and deserves to be supported as she is one of the most recognized and leading judges in our country. Aska Hold & Bark
You hawk eye. Alison was like Johnny on the spot, she didn’t miss a beat. Next time I think I’ll pinch her glasses, now that I know she is as blind as a bat without them. Thank You very much Alison we really do appreciate everything you give us.

Theresa & Luka BH   Also without any hesitation, a really well deserved thank you needs to go to our dearest friend Mr Raino Fluegge. Flying out all the way from Canada, and being tortured before his arrival, having to spend almost 50 hours on the plane, he still came out and showed us he has the heart of a lion and the endurance of race horse. What a gentleman! What a master! He worked tirelessly giving all us sponges who were present, the desired fluid to absorb.
Beginning with the theory and the analysis of his SACR training model, following through to the concepts of the sport and true purpose as to why we need to keep training schutzhund dogs. Far too much detail to try and attach to this weekend’s summary.

I must say, the theory was quite easy to understand and fascinating as Raino gently worked us through it, educating us with quite some detail. However, seeing the theory being implemented with enormous success in all the dogs  that Raino worked over the four days, was just mind blowing. If that wasn’t enough, he somehow found the drive to be trial track layer, and trial helper with excellent results on both accounts, on a difficult day. He was also assisting Alison with honest feedback and special constructive comments on judging skills and techniques. This went on all the way through the trial. Like I said earlier, the man is a master. Once again a very big and heartfelt thank you to Mr Raino Fluegge. I’m absolutely certain I speak for every person who attended this weekend.

We hope to see him again next year and we wish him good luck with all his projects for 2007 and beyond.
To all the competitors congratulations on our achievements seeing as I also participated. I was very fortunate in taking out high in trial this time, with my SchH3 pregnant bitch Cendraise Inka. Congratulations to Luc, achieving SchH3 again with Aska for the third or fourth time. To Dane and Jayyy Jayy well done, it’s SchH3 Club for you as well my friend. Hard work and perseverance eventually pays off. Dane is living proof of that.

Well done Istvan and Anika another well measured and consistent performance, throughout all the components of the trial. Unfortunately for our Vanessa it was not to be this time. She at the last minute stepped in and put Robbie through his paces for Andrew, who says he fell ill. Yet to be determined, it’s all talk I reckon. He looked fine to me after a couple beers. Ha!Ha! Just joking. Andrew is not one to balk at an opportunity to play around and have some fun.

The weekend truly belongs to our very successful BH girls. Teresa had quite some time to prepare for this event and get her routine down pat. Despite all her nervousness and butterflies in the stomach, she put up a great performance with Luca successfully achieving her BH title with relative ease. Sue on the other hand, had no idea she was going to compete and no idea of the BH requirements until the day before. Raino did a little preliminary work showing Sue’s BH routine, and she was right into it. Just as if she had done it all before. Sue has had quite a lot of obedience experience in other type of work, not in schutzhund however. Together with Nimmo, Sue showed all of us she can certainly swim when thrown in at the deep end. For an individual who was introduced to the sport just over a month ago she has huge potential. I think everyone had better take note. There’s a new girl on the block, with quite a bit of talent. Look out all you sportlers.

Let’s not forget the fact that both these girls are novice schutzhund dog handlers. Yet they showed they have the confidence, conviction and the competitive spirit to go a long way in our dogsport. Well done ladies and congratulations from all of us. To bigger and better things in the future.

As always Sally is the one who runs around behind the scenes, organizing all the little things, the food, the drinks, the entries, the schedule, the trophies, the medals, the flags, the ribbons, allocating  jobs to people and much more.  All the things people never think are important and never appreciate until it slaps them in the face. Its time she got an official thank you for every thing she takes care of without asking for anything in return.  A job well done.

This time fortunately we had some new hands on deck Robyn and Sue, our two newest converts to the sport of schutzhund . They helped out in the kitchen and other areas when required. They gave their services with out much fuss and did a fantastic job. I can confidently say that these two fine ladies have fallen into the club and the role of conscientious members as if they have been with us for six years, not six weeks. Despite the fact that she doesn’t have time to train anymore, Jirina one of our long time members, also made an appearance. As per usual she turns up with the most fantastic sweets and fabulous foods one could want. I would like to thank each and every individual who put their hand up to make this weekend the success it was. If I have omitted anyone please forgive. I thank you all regardless. I honestly can’t remember everything that everybody did. We all put in heaps and got out of it even more, I would like to believe.

Remember the rule, beers all round for the dog’s first sleeve bite.

Until Next Time
